1. Relief can be provided by anesthetizing the relevant intercostal nerve with local anesthetic. 2. These small arteries run with the anterior cutaneous branches of the intercostal nerves . 3. The first technique is related to the non-invasive study of intercostal nerves . 4. The vein is superior to the artery, and the intercostal nerve is inferior to it. 5. The dominant innervation to the nipple is derived from the lateral cutaneous branches of fourth intercostal nerve . 6. Anterior divisions : The intercostal nerves come from thoracic nerves T1-T11, and run between the ribs. 7. Posteriorly, the second rib is connected with the vertebral column by the intercostal veins and arteries and intercostal nerve . 8. The lower intercostal nerves supply the Intercostales and abdominal muscles; the last three send branches to the Serratus posterior inferior. 9. The costal and cervical portions and the periphery of the diaphragmatic portion of the parietal pleurae are innervated by the intercostal nerves . 10. The transversus thoracis muscle is innervated by one of the intercostal nerves and superiorly attaches at the posterior surface of the lower sternum.
